1. Introduction

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of www.motifpvd.com (the “website”) and the PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) coating services provided by Motif PVD Coatings (“Motif”, “we”, “us”, “our”), Mumbai, Maharashtra, India.

By accessing the website, submitting an enquiry, requesting a quotation or placing an order, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree with any part of them, please do not use the website or our services.

2. Our Services

Motif provides PVD coating services on materials and products agreed with each customer on a case-by-case basis. Specifications, colours, finishes, turnaround time and pricing depend on the individual project and are confirmed through a written quotation or work order. Our services are in the nature of job work: we apply coatings to items supplied by you, and the items remain your property throughout.

3. Quotations and Orders

  • Quotations are estimates based on the information and specifications you share with us. Final pricing may vary if the actual material, quantity or specifications differ from what was originally discussed.
  • Quotations are valid for the period stated on them; if no period is stated, they are valid for 15 days from the date of issue.
  • An order is confirmed only on written acceptance of the quotation (by email, WhatsApp, purchase order or signed confirmation) and, where applicable, receipt of the agreed advance payment.
  • We may accept or decline any order at our discretion — for example, due to capacity constraints or because the material is unsuitable for the PVD process.

4. Your Responsibilities

  • Provide accurate specifications, quantities and material details for the coating job.
  • Ensure the items you send are suitable for the PVD process. We are not liable for damage arising from pre-existing defects, poor material quality or incompatible substrates that were not disclosed to us in advance.
  • Package items properly when shipping them to us, unless we have agreed otherwise. Items travel to our facility at your risk and cost unless the quotation states otherwise.
  • Where colour or finish is critical, we recommend approving a coated sample or trial piece before full production; approved samples become the agreed reference for the order.

5. Your Goods at Our Facility

  • We take reasonable care of items in our custody and handle them in line with standard industry practice.
  • Our responsibility for items at our facility is limited as set out in Section 10. You are encouraged to insure high-value goods for transit and processing; we do not insure customer goods unless expressly agreed in writing.
  • Coated items should be collected, or dispatch arranged, promptly once we notify you that the job is complete. Items not collected within 60 days of notification may attract reasonable storage charges, and we may contact you to arrange disposal of items uncollected after a longer period notified to you in writing.

6. Pricing, Taxes and Payment

  • Prices are communicated by quotation and vary with material, design complexity, coating type, colour and quantity.
  • Unless expressly stated otherwise, quoted prices are exclusive of GST and other applicable taxes, which will be charged additionally at the prevailing rates.
  • Payment terms (advance, partial or full) are specified in the quotation or order confirmation, and payment is accepted through the modes communicated at that time.
  • Delayed payment may result in delayed delivery or in goods being held until payment is received.

7. Turnaround Time and Delivery

  • Estimated turnaround times are shared at order confirmation. They are estimates, not guaranteed dates — coating timelines can be affected by order volume, material behaviour and circumstances beyond our control. We will make reasonable efforts to inform you of significant delays.
  • Unless otherwise agreed, arranging delivery or dispatch of coated items is your responsibility, and shipping or courier charges not included in the quotation are borne by you.
  • Risk in the goods passes to you once the coated items are dispatched or handed over for delivery or pickup.

8. Quality and Rework

  • We follow industry-standard PVD coating processes and take care to deliver the finish agreed in your order.
  • Because PVD coating is applied to items you supply, the final result can vary with the condition, material and surface quality of the base item, and minor shade variation between batches is inherent to the process.
  • Any concern about coating quality must be raised in writing within 7 days of delivery, with supporting details and photographs. We review each case individually and may, at our discretion, offer rework, a partial adjustment or another appropriate resolution.
  • We do not guarantee coating performance in conditions of misuse, abrasion, chemical exposure or improper handling after delivery, unless specifically agreed in writing.

9. Cancellations and Refunds

  • Once an order is confirmed and taken into production, it generally cannot be cancelled, as material and processing costs are already being incurred.
  • If you request cancellation before production starts, we will assess it case by case and may deduct costs already incurred.
  • Refunds, where applicable, are processed as per the terms agreed at order confirmation.

10. Limitation of Liability

  • To the extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to our services — including claims relating to items in our custody — shall not exceed the value of the specific order in question.
  • We are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, including loss of business or loss of profits.

11. Force Majeure

We are not responsible for delay or failure to perform caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including power outages, equipment breakdown, natural events, transport disruption, supplier delays or government action. Timelines extend by the duration of the event, and we will keep you informed.

12. Intellectual Property

All content on the website — text, images, logos and designs — is the property of Motif PVD Coatings unless otherwise stated. You may not copy, reproduce or use it for commercial purposes without our written permission.

13. Website Use

  • You agree to use the website only for lawful purposes and not to misuse it in any way that could damage, disable or impair its functioning.
  • We may update, modify or discontinue any part of the website at any time without prior notice.

14. Privacy

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in our services, business practices or legal requirements. Updated Terms will be posted on this page with a revised “Last Updated” date. 16. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with them is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts at Mumbai, Maharashtra.
